Poem: The Rhadamantine Judge

20170414_151606

Rhadamanthine I hear you whisper
Handing out time like cakes well slivered
From whose perspective is time too heavy
Crime so grave the hangman’s not so crazy
Victim’s corner still shudders at the temerity
The guilty in the dock feels it’s an eternity
The gallery fist pumps up above in unity
Justice slow cooked seen served by the community
Judge’s not swayed by the final pleas
Quiet down please the orderly screams
Sentence so long so well worth waiting for
Gavel hits down and so much time is lost
Tears trickle down from the mother who lost
Tears trickle down from the mother who’s lost
Rhadamanthine I hear you whisper
